RULER'S SECRET Ridden by Lawrence Kaine
AUGUST WORKOUT
Lawrence Kaine was bringing out Ruler's Secret to get his workout done and over with. The stables needed to work their horses more often and try to get them to be at least grade 5 but, most of the horses at Bowen Acres came from unknown lines which made it a little bot more difficult. The staff had came across Passion Heart first, Rules younger full sister and months later Sammy found Ruler's Secret from the same lines of Passion Heart but, found him in bad shape from his previous home.
The unique blazed black colt came to Bowen Acres with a leg injury that got the staff wondering if he should immediately retire to become a stud when he became of age. But, the colt's luck had changed when he became a 3 year old and was evaluated by the stable vet that his leg was perfectly healed and he was ready to race and slowly but, surely Ruler's Secret would find his way to the top.
As a distance turf runner Lawrence walked the colt out onto the colt as if going for a simple ride while his leg may have been healed Lawrence didn't want to risk the colt to re injure it again so he took him out slowly a canter at first then a trot to see how he handled himself and the weight. Lawrence and Terri had agreed to try to keep the siblings on different tracks Ruler's Secret would run mainly on The Wire and Passion Heart at Green Horse Fields and if necessary switch on rare occasions.
Lawrence then had the colt come to a walk seeing how he looked and then now it was business as Ruler's Secret seemed fine he went forward to a steady run not feeling any pain in his leg at all the colt yanked on the reins and extended his legs farther apart to become at full speed galloping away from his start as the front runner he was the Mellifluous Maiden was his next race and Ruler's Secret would give a name for himself whether he was last or first he would not let anyone throw him down.
He usually wore a purple mask over his face to cover that blaze of his to confuse others but, their were not many black racehorses on the track these days. After succeeding his length the colt was pulled back to slow down. As he did slow down he rose his head with an attitude but, he immediately calmed down Lawrence praising him as a good job well done. The 3 year old would handle himself well and loved to run out there no matter who he was racing Lawrence could tell he just loved it. "Good boy Ru." He said then headed back to the stables so Ruler's Secret could rest his leg for race day.
